Extended schools will work with parents, pupils and local services to provide activities according to the needs of their community. The benefits should:
Improve pupils self confidence and relationships;
Provide more choice and flexibility for parents and provide easier access to support services;
Simplify and quicken access to health and social services for children, so that problems affecting their learning can be dealt with more easlily;
Improve test results;
Enable the community to access more facilities, resources and equipment.
