Active Kidz is a holiday scheme that is ran by the council. It gives children the opportunity to socialize with children there own age and the chance to experience new activities they wouldn't usually have at home, including Arts and Crafts and a mixture of different outdoor activities. The scheme runs for 2 weeks in the Easter holidays and a 5 week scheme in the summer holidays, it is also held at different venues across Gateshead.
Kings Meadow had 26 children on their site that run throughout the Easter Holidays, The age range was over 8s and a lot of sports and games ran throughout. Activities such as rounders, football, tennis and people posters all based around an Easter themed week. There were many trips out on various days to places such as the Alan Shearer Centre, Swimming, Bowling and many more. The children found the 2 weeks fun filled and loved every moment of it.
I really enjoyed going to the Alan Shearer Centre, it was my first time i had been, and the ball pool was the best.

Activie Kidz from my point of view is a great out of school holiday project which caters for all ages and abilities within the designed ages range. There is an enthusiastic staff team and great site facilities, equipment and choices for the children. The children have the chance to go swimming, Cinemads, Bowling etc, and today we are going to the Alan Shearer Centre. I would recomment Active Kidz to anyone as my son once attended this programme when he was younger.

The Alan Shearer Centre
The Alan Shearer Centre enables people with a disability, and their carers to share leisure time in a setting which provides wide ranging challenge, leisure, relaxation and tehrapeutic opportunities. People can use this as a place to relax and unwind either to stay for a short session or a longer stay, indoors or out. The Alan Shearer Centre is sponsored by St Cuthbert's Care project and is for both Adults and Children with Disabilities.
The Alan Shearer Centre is a brilliant place to get all children involved. It is really stimulating and really promotes healthy living whilst having fun.
