An allocation of funding to the Hookergate Cluster Group was used to develop the varied menu of activities, community access and adult learning element of the extended schools core offer. The cluster set up sustainable out of school hours sporting activities that can be accessed by pupils across the entire school age and also training opportunities for members of the community to enable them to deliver out of school hours activities.

The trampoline Club is based at Hookergate School and provides sessions for secondary pupils, primary pupils and adult groups across the cluster. Once a month a session is provided for community members with special needs. The club also provides training opportunities for any individuals who wish to access a coaching qualification in trampolining.

Each primary school in the cluster have also developed extra school based activities for pupils of their schools, based on need identified from a gap analysis of services. Activities included cheerleading, football, dance, circus skills, kick & box, Frisbee, karate and samba drums.

Adults from the community are invited to undertake a Community Sports Leaders Course to develop skills to deliver sporting activities to pupils. The Community Sports Leaders course awards adults with a nationally recognised, and hopefully soon to be accredited, qualification, which can help to step into a career of coaching. Adults invited to participate are people who already work in schools, parents or other members of the local community.
