Refurbishment of Thomas Hepburn Community School

Through funding provided by the Government’s Building Schools for the Future Programme, Thomas Hepburn Community School will undergo a massive refurbishment to create, through a radically improved physical environment, an educational climate that will lead to transformational improvements in outcomes for learners.

David Mitchell, Gateshead’s Director of Learning and Schools was accompanied by children from Thomas Hepburn and members of the community who make regular use of the schools facilities in a ceremony to dig up the first piece of turf where a part of the school will be re-built.
