National Playday is taking place on Wednesday 5th August 2009, 10am-3pm at Saltwell Park in Gateshead. Free games and activities will be available for all ages including orienteering, arts and crafts, den building, street cheer and many many more and members of the team at Metro Radio and Cash for Kids will attend the event playing music and entertaining the crowds, so come along and join the fun!!!!
Playday is the annual celebration of children's right to play, a national campaign supported by the Government to to promote play for children and young people. Last year's theme was 'Give Us A Go', which promoted the benefits of allowing children to manage their own risks whilst playing by providing adventurous play opportunities. In addition can you please make note of the following:
- Some activities are age/height restricted and therefore not all children will be able to access all activities.
- Some activities require consent forms signed by the parent/carer prior to use of the equipment (download climbing wall consent form below, for children aged approx 8 and over)

- Photographs may be taken @ the event by a representative from the Local Authority. He/she will be wearing their name badge for identification. Please inform them if you do not wish to have any of your children included in the photos.
- Appropriate clothing and a change of clothes are recommended.
- Sunscreen/hats/waterproofs are also recommended
- There will be a lunch break from 12-12.30 and all children/parents/carer's will be required to bring their own packed lunch and plenty of drinks.
